Judge is a good, often great ballplayer. Nothing he's accomplished can be taken away from him. And I have no doubt he's a leader as it stands. But I never agreed with him being named Yankees Captain, because a Captain gets his men to buy in. Yelich clearly does that.

Frelick doing a zoom to ESPN from team bus, red-eyes, no voice, looks like he hasn’t showered, ‘not a lot of sleep,’ ballplayer cliches intact, shortly before leaping into the stands at Lambeau.. he lives back in Massachusetts in the offseason but it’s like Wisconsin made A Guy

lotta excellent costumes on the Metro but I think the easily 6'3" built-like-a-major-league-ballplayer man with a rather well done Elizabeth Holmes costume, wig and all, wins the day

Tough choice! The ballplayer who invented the high five or Jane Fonda's ex-husband who colorized Casablanca?

I'd like to think that, when healthy, he could still be a solid ballplayer. But he just hasn't been healthy since 2023, and I'm not sure he ever will be.

The lifespan of a ballplayer: 33 is ancient and wizened; 22 is a tiny baby child

I had Butterworth at #17 in the Orioles system, probably the highest in any team ranking I've seen. He's an old-timey ballplayer with the thin body to match. His defensive versatility across the field, arm, and contact skills are assets, and he gets as much power out of his frame as you could ask

Adam Royster and I present BEAN BALL, one-shot #TTRPG about 1970s #baseball players executing a revenge plan, as part of the Baseball Jam '26.

Build your ballplayer and park, then enact America's national pastime of vengeance before you’re tossed from the game.

Hearing the odd #cheering section at an away game, a visiting ballplayer asked his opponent why the fans were yelling, "Shell yeah!" and "Crunch 'em!" and "Nuttin can stop us now!"

"Oh," grinned the home team captain, "that's the peanut gallery."

thinking about my dad, who died in 2025 a couple of weeks after Bob Uecker

dad was a decent ballplayer in his youth and a fan ever after

grew up a Cardinals fan but watched the Brewers whenever he could

he'd love this

I was skeptical that an ex-ballplayer could be an effective senator, but Dugnutt made me a believer.

Thanks for the terrific picture and the memories of our favorite Met, Shelly. I was there the night he finally won his 20th game, (even though it was a school night, lol) and I was there when they retired his number.

Always clutch, always tough. An old fashioned, gutty ballplayer. An absolute joy.🧡💙
