I just identified Ashmeadiella aridula aridula Cockerell, 1910 for the first time from Canada - Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan to be specific. This species has only been recorded in the western United States. #beesofcanada #beesofsaskatchewan #bees

This male #bumblebee from Fort Qu’Appelle, #Saskatchewan, is the darkest Bombus bohemicus I have ever seen - other than the anterior part of the dorsum of the thorax and the small pale yellow patches on terga 4 and 5, it would be entirely black! #beesofcanada
