If you thought Lourinhasaurus was big, well here is Lusotitan atalaiensis.

A HUGE brachiosaurid from Late Jurassic Portugal that is famously being featured in the 2025 reboot of Walking with Dinosaurs!

Enjoy!

!🚨New Paper alert🚨!

We described a new species of long-necked dinosaur from the eastern Amazon. It was neither a brachiosaurid nor a titanosaur, and has brought several insights into the evolution of metabolism and growth strategies in sauropods.

Opening a door on the fabulous dinosaur collections @nhm-london.bsky.social. As a one time medical doctor who started work before computers I have to admire the hand writing accompanying one of the specimens. An Ornithopsis (Brachiosaurid) vertebra from the #IsleofWight Fox collection. #FossilFriday

What’s better than one new sauropod?

TWO new sauropods!

Thats right, the dino gods are feeding us.

Two new sauropods have been described.

One from Argentina, the other from Thailand!

Bicharracosaurus is a possible brachiosaurid that lived in what is now Argentina from the Late Jurassic.

Fossil of the day is… Brachiosaurus! It was a late Jurassic brachiosaurid sauropod from North America. One species is generally accepted, B. altithorax, which means the Deep Chested Arm Lizard. For how popular the animal is, not a lot of fossil material is known

It has an estimated length of 15-20meters (49-65ft) and weighed about 20 tons.

What makes this so cool is that this would make them the first Jurassic brachiosaurid from South America!

The sauropod from Thailand is Nagatitan.

They have an estimated length of 27 meters (89ft).

Old concept for Drone’s feral form - given they are supposed to be a demonic akylosaurid I thought some horrific transformation into a brachiosaurid would be fun. A steel cable tail would be a killer weapon, and throwing up their own tongue/head is something I want to animate so fucking bad

I spent the last two days on wplace making this brachiosaurid. Every pixel of the artwork is 16 pixels on the map because I wanted it to be big.

Feel free to help out, IF you can find it. I will just say, it is where it belongs.

A dinosaur tooth of an indeterminate sauropod from the Irhazer Group in the Agadez Region of Niger. The morphology is similar to what is described from the possible early brachiosaurid, Atlasaurus imelakei from similar aged rocks in Morocco. #FossilFriday

And Europasaurus which is a tiny brachiosaurid.

Listen people would absolutely have them as pets idc idc.

🦖 Daily Paleo 🦖; Abydosaurus mcintoshi

From Early Cretaceous Cedar Mountain Formation, North America, the "Abydos lizard" is one of the few sauropods with skull remains. This brachiosaurid is one of its continent's last sauropods before a long hiatus from the fossil record

Where a river empties into the Sundance Sea, one of the first Gars cruises past rows of horsetails while an early Brachiosaurid approaches the shore. A speculative scene inspired by talking with @seismic-shrimp.bsky.social about the origin of Lepisosteidae. #paleoart #sciart #sundayfishsketch #gar

Thinking about some lesser known Steve Kirk dinosaur artwork today. His work shaped my childhood perception of prehistoric life more than any other artist and I have an endless appreciation for his ability to decorate his animals in eye-catchingly beautiful patterns that look painted from life.

We briefly discussed having a large brachiosaurid sauropod in the background, but this episode was always fairly light on animals even in the early stages!

-BRACHIOCOLOSSUS-
This 60 meters tall Brachiosaurid is the largest sauropod still living on earth, when one of them dies it is seen as a momentous occasion by the Skull Islanders, as their body alone will feed the forest's flora, fauna and people for generations to come.
