I haven't read Carl Rogers really, but here's what I miss: "When someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good!" This is what I miss. So much

Marco Rubio sold what was left of his soul to be the guy in the office who volunteers for every job because no one else wants to do it.

It’s incredible how Trump’s brand of poison reveals who people are and leads to exhaustive debasement.

We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.

A person is a fluid process, not a fixed and static entity; a flowing river of change, not a block of solid material; a continually changing constellation of potentialities, not a fixed quantity of traits.

The good life seems to involve an increasing openness to experience... the polar opposite of defensiveness.

#CarlRogers' three rules of effective #therapy:

1. Genuine positive regard for client(s)

2. Accurate and devastatingly correct #empathy

3. Walk the talk

That’s it.

#Creativity is not a tool. It’s a mystery that you enter. An unfolding. An opening process.

Ever catch Carl Rogers YouTube channel? He and his father are rebuilding a French country estate by hand, the woodworking is so satisfying. He does other projects too, they do stuff like build their own beams.

If I let myself really understand another person, I might be changed by that understanding. And we all fear change. So as I say, it is not an easy thing to permit oneself to understand an individual.

I'm looking for good books talking about #HumanisticPsychology, #psychedelictherapy, and #Psychology in general. I have #CarlRogers' "A Way of Being" and a few others, I would love more #BookRecommendations.

Not everyone sees beauty in others like in a #sunset. But what if we did? Instead of trying to change or #control people, we could appreciate them for who they truly are—just as we admire the #colors of the sky. Growth happens in acceptance, not demands.

‘And If a person is understood, they belong.’
I am ever fascinated with, and respectful of empathy.
If we truly listen, clients might truly feel heard, and then maybe feel understood, and move towards hearing themselves.
