Received my first #books of 2025. Given the price, I had to wait a while to buy the new #ChicagoManual, the color of which apparently baffles my iPhone camera. Then, Kenneth Stampp’s study of 1857 and Robert Muchembled’s history of the #devil in the West. #phd #thesis #amreading 🗃️

So @OIEAHC is pretty intense abt mss editing. We're @ChicagoManual intensive, but we have house style too. (Black capitalized in OI pubs for a while now.) But if @BCDreyer doesn't start producing more merchandise I'm going to run out of gifts for our editors...

@david_crake I wouldn't use quotations marks for a character's thoughts, but they aren't wrong. See @ChicagoManual 13:14, 16th edition.
