フォトショは学割で買った約20年前のだし、プレミアもすでに10年落ちのElements。OSとアプリは少し事情が違うが、10年以上前のPCに、ChromeOS Flexの前身CloudReadyの最終版 (Chromeのバージョンでいうと97くらい。ChromeOS Flexのアプデ対象外だった為)を入れ、ベッドサイドでYoutube専用マシンとして使用しているし、使い方次第でしょ？という印象は少なからずある。

I ended up throwing cloudready on it before google bought neverware since it stopped getting official updates, maybe after I'm done moving I'll fire it up and see if I can switch it over to ChromeOS flex or maybe one of the community run builds that add android app compatibility?

I feel blessed to be able to experiment with such things. TBH, I am finding immense joy in seeing it move from concept to shipped.

I have one of the unsuccessful expensive first Chromebook Pixels from 2013 that has a similar devolution in hardware compatibility in Linux over the years. GalliumOS seems to be the best option for Linux on x86 Chromebooks and it hasn’t been updated since 2019-12. medium.com/@lostplus/ho...
