Easington Moths...so there's almost invisible moths flying about in the sunshine, big specks of dust..one landed on a leaf..I couldn't see it but the camera did...amazing.. Cocksfoot Moth Glyphipterix simpliciella.. @doublekidney.bsky.social #teammoth

Two Magnificent sights at Cors Goch NNR this week. An alluring Grass-of-parnassus has drawn in some Beautiful Cocksfoot Moths Glyphipterix simpliciella. Just 4mm has metallic Copper sheen & Black wing spots. Loves wetland Meadows full of Buttercups @bsbibotany.bsky.social #TeamMoth #MothsMatter

My first reared Elachistid of the spring emerged recently, and it was a beautiful shiny one - Elachista apicipunctella, from its subtle greenish mine on Cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata) growing in Whitecross Green Wood (Bucks).

A charging stop on the way to Devon, and the opportunity to check a few buttercups, turned up several Glyphipterix simplicella (Cocksfoot Moth). The anthers give a sense of how tiny is this species. #TeamMoth
