Tbh people talk about Trump as a rejection of neoliberalism in a bunch of ways but I think the biggest is the rejection of the depersonalization/professionalization of economic decisionmaking.
bit of tongue-in-cheek work from @cameroncorduroy.bsky.social on how, despite decades of republicans screaming about "socialism!!!," under trump they have embraced all the worst aspects of communism in practice: the leader cults, the corruption, the cronyism and stupidity
Vote Democratic to Fight Socialism

No. Another alternative is a capped number of submissions by institution, which is now the case in NZ. Thereby transmitting the burden of teview or preliminary decisionmaking to institutions.

in case it wasn't already clear, deciding to be a scab tells us all we actually need to know about the ref's decisionmaking abilities, a standard he is living down to with aplomb tonight

One problem is that the Linux kernel still probably has to go because decisionmaking on LKML seems to be to a large part driven by now by IBM and NVidia and those specific companies probably can pay for their own contributions to the kernel (or comp it out of LLM cloud products they run themselves).

I’ve been thinking a lot about chess and other strategy games lately, and how they relate to fighting games, philosophically. Both are games of endurance in decisionmaking.

It's just contracts. Same mechanism of enforcement. Voluntary association is a contract between the association and its members. There's a lot of judicial deference to private decisionmaking but if there's rules, they're written, and they're broken, that's a contract baby

Idk whether this sort of playing dumb has been _especially_ productive at advancing / maintaining the Trump Administration's legal/policy objectives,

but it has made it difficult to hold individuals accountable, or to trace any sort of chain of command / decisionmaking
