Smartest DemSoc

In our demsoc utopia, every storefront will have an insanely priced loss leader good. It will be law.

there's been a lot of (not entirely unfounded!) grousing about the Dem establishment being unwelcoming to younger, women, POC, and/or progressive/demsoc candidates and electeds but Stevens is learning what it looks like when the party _really_ doesn't want you.

Partner and I voted by mail in early Oct, and what I learned is that we need way more Dem/DemSoc people here.

>looking for a new politician
>ask the DSA if their politician is demsoc or socdem
>she doesnt understand
>pull out theory explaining what is demsoc and what is socdem
>she laughs and says "its a good politician comrade"
>look at politician
>its liberal

Look, that may have been a stupid call on their part, but there's a big difference between someone who can't bring themselves to vote for a genocidaire and someone who would rather have a Republican in office than a moderate demsoc.

Average DSA demsoc in 2026 is right of Richard Nixon.

Also, communism is a theoretical future society which is stateless, moneyless, and classless. It hasn't yet been achieved, and this pundit talks about it both existing and not existing in the same statement.

They didn't even address the scarcity of actual socialism or the DemSoc political position.

I voted! #GAVoter #DemSoc

Listen, I don't think you need to be, like, a revolutionary anarchist in your outlook (although you should be that imo), to combat these problems. BUT, you do need to be committed to a significant shift from neoliberalism to something else (e.g. demsoc/socdem politics). The status quo has failed.

I need leftists to reconcile with the fact that as they stand they would have 100% voted for Netanyahu if he ran as a Demsoc.
I need shitlibs to reconcile with the fact that as they stand they would have 100% voted for trump if he ran as a Democrat

Yeah I’m not saying there’s no one “in 50501” (we don’t have membership rolls it’s all very obviously socially constructed mutual recognition) has a problematic stance on X, but on the whole the positions of the average 50501 organizer is somewhere in the progressive-socdem-demsoc-hard left matrix
October 31, 2026 at 11:17 PM
crazy how the dems screaming 'vote blue no matter who' suddenly stop when it's a demsoc
October 31, 2026 at 4:21 PM
Yeah, that’s as good a label as any, and I guess depending on exactly what the social safety net looks like there might not even be a real distinction between demsoc and socdem. I am certainly more than willing to make common cause with demsocs!
October 31, 2026 at 6:58 PM
To be fair, with the democrats being put up, it will be an extinction event for us trans people.

Vote demsoc/leftist!
October 31, 2026 at 12:34 PM
lol, lmao. they got demsoc MAGA now
October 30, 2026 at 9:27 PM
possibly unpopular opinion but if this gets a soft demsoc into the Oval Office or even a major contender in Dem primaries, it is worth it. you don't build coalitions by not giving anything. that's why Bernie couldn't win.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka AOC, has softened her tactics and pursued voters and lawmakers in both parties. To reach her biggest goals, she‘ll need the far-left base—and everybody else. 🔗 on.wsj.com/4zVmvul

The Scandinavian countries alone are a great example of how European countries have enacted various policies that align with democratic socialism. Are they fully socialist? No they’re not, but they’ve enacted so many demsoc policies that they have literally become a model.
November 1, 2026 at 6:18 PM
I think what's going to happen is you're going to have a lot of demsoc in the democratic party, and the DSA will be less and less relevant as it puritanizies
October 28, 2026 at 1:37 PM
“Woke” has intense proxy pro-DemSoc vibes.
October 27, 2026 at 11:15 AM
It's amazing being able to sit there look up every candidate, and make an informed decision rather than just party line all the way down.

I mean, as one who holds to demsoc, I pretty much did anyways. But the judges are nominally nonpartisan, so being able to look them up is big.

i was in 2023 but an unpleasant carpetbagger demsoc who didn't even live in the district pushed me out. i lost the game of chicken bc i didn't want to split the left vote. they didn't campaign & lost badly. i figured it was prob my last chance before transfemmes became unelectable. huge ratfuck. :(
November 1, 2026 at 9:54 PM
Anyone that gives a shit about the theoretical difference between DemSoc and SocDem when it comes to electing someone to office is just not serious about advancing their cause.
October 27, 2026 at 4:35 AM
Found an As•Is bicycle at a local demsoc/mutualaid “shop” for $95 I’ll check out this weekend, so I have wheels again.

Die capitalists, die.

The dead, sallow shark eyes really sell the whole bit too.

Apiac really couldn't have picked a better person to solidify left leaning dems and the DemSoc contingent into a more cohesive bloc.
