btw the guide i'm following said "[this] fight is both silly and unfair, [..] there is no way [you] can fight him fairly. [..] He will defeat [you] in five hits [..] even buffed with every potion in your inventory"

Bump and Normal yes, Displacement maps also yes, but are a bit different. Displacement Maps are UV maps in Black and white with Black being negative(inward) and white being positive(outward) - I suppose it could be read as a W/height value - but Displacment makes actually 'displace' ...
