My #FavouriteFind for @wildflowerhour.bsky.social this year wasn’t rare: it was this exuberantly hyperchromic foxglove from a #Dartmoor lane in June. It was really giving its all. @bsbibotany.bsky.social #WildflowerHour

Everybody else was seeing it, so why couldn’t I? It took a trip up north to Wigton for me finally to see Town Hall Clock, in April this year, and I was very excited. 💚 #FavouriteFind #WildflowerHour

One solitary Bee Orchid caused me to gasp when I found it. Tucked amongst a bank of weeds on a busy mountain lane where the iron works and coal mining had ripped the earth apart . Never seen them before. #Wildflowerhour #FavouriteFind @wildflowerhour.bsky.social

The joyous appearance of sea thrift in late spring. A favourite walk, in my favourite place. Evokes memories of my coastal childhood in the far north of Scotland. #WildFlowerHour #FavouriteFind

My #FavouriteFind this year - or at least one of them! was rediscovering the Twinflowers at Tentsmuir Forest. They're now at the edge of the forest after fallen trees were taken down. I still can't believe they're here. #wildflowerhour @bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social

My #FavouriteFind this year was the reappearance of the Ladies Tresses on a little lawn next to a communal parking area. They had a year off in 2023 (drought and over zealous mowing) so it was great to see one again! 🤞🏼more next year
Ladies Tresses Orchids for #WildflowerHour
We transplanted these 25 years ago from a lawn that was being dug up for development. Planted them in a tiny patch of short grass. Numbers vary every year, twelve flowering shoots in 2022, none last year in the drought, one so far this year. 🤞🏼
