Currently with test knitters, the Ferrotype Scarf is almost ready for publication. Part of my Tintype series of designs, this scarf uses both the short-row motif that is iconic of this collection along with slipped stitches for a unique knitting experience.

Most likely not, then. (they were mostly replaced with a few other processes by the late 1850s) It could have been a ferrotype, which was about two iterations down. Those would have taken less time, but still several minutes to expose. I think the color matches better too.

Actually, I've gotten such a finish using an old photographer's ferrotype plate on the Prusa. It fits right in to the build plate surface.
