Several years ago I saw a group of #Dunlin in a nearly perfect #FibonacciSequence. They were missing the first single bird, but 1 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 8 - 13 proves that #FibonacciNumbers are found everywhere in nature ;)

A brand new fiddlehead fern frond is beginning to unfurl. It was photographed from bottom to top. To make out details like the rust-brown hairs on the backs of the spirals and a tiny greenish-yellow insect (lacefly?), I had to overexpose the background: a white sky with light green, fresh leaves.

source: https://www.matheretter.de/rechner/gfplot, an ingenious toy/tool that I used to draw a blue line with a slope of about phi, the Golden ratio. and a pink parabola that has two intersections (=zeros/roots) with the x-axis. One of them equals phi exactly; See more in the alternative text that belongs to the photo to the right, please! Blue parabola that shows the the function f(x)=x²-x-1 Its zeros or roots are x1 about -0.61803399 and x2 about 1.61803399 with x2 happens to be phi, the Golden ratio, made of Fibonaccinumbers: 1:1=1, 2:1=2, 3:2=1.5, 5:3=1.666..., 8:5=1.625, ...6765/4181 is about 1.61803396!
