Looking Up To You
Michael Wycoff
📍Los Angeles, CA 🇺🇸 (Wilmington)
1982

It never really hit big, but this track was sampled on "Hey Mr. D.J.” by Zhané, which hit #6 in the USA in 1993.

Oh yeah, I know his work. I didn't know he did fontography until just now though!

The logic is sound, but even so, the consistency of fontography is impressive.

I love that the children are discovering Madonna's Thief of Hearts, 33 years on.

What other Madge deep cut should they be dancing to next? I'm voting for Rescue Me, but I wouldn't say no to a Sidewalk Talk resurrection.

While we’re talking about fontography, I have a confession to make:

I kinda like Aptos.

A neighborhood favorite (also my train) and EXCELLENT Fontography porn.
Fran Sans is a font based on the display type of SF’s MUNI light rail trains. The N-Judah was my train when I lived there, so I’m very familiar with that display typeface. (Great name too.) [emilysneddon.com]

Fontography choices are a critical component of academic freedom.

Are you really, really, really sure you want to hand all of your personal information to someone who not only doesn't understand fontography but also can't be bothered to proofread their own #YouTube ad? You're the one who busted your ass. Why should they get your money? #SpotTheScam

I had a weird dream last night where I was watching someone play a game and commented on the the ess-set (ß character) in the dialog text and thought of Pentiment. And I am a native English speaker. Anyway, this has been my Ted Talk about my dreams about videogame fontography.
Hello! My GDC talk, Justifying Absurd Expenditures on Fonts and Other Silly Features, will be on Friday, March 21st, 10:00-11:00am, Room 2002, West Hall.

I'll discuss the development of font features for Pentiment and how to make all your dreams come true. Wow!

It's more comfortable to read, I can use a stylus to highlight, and it's got better fontography for dyslexia/dysgraphia users.

The one thing I'm not a fan of is that I don't look at book covers, and the Kobo REALLY loves its book cover interface. Like, more than a friend.

I got an email from Freeland's campaign. They're selling merchandise.

e.g. a sticker with a really ugly graphic that reads:

"True North Strong and Freeland"

The design/fontography is horrible and the play on words is amateur hour..

No words except embarrassing.

I get sad seeing great art with no alt and feel uncomfortable telling artists to use it, so yes please let's spread this message!

I am an interdisciplinary (read: scatterbrained) #artist working in #photography, collage, illustration, graphic #design, fontography, #3D, glitch, etc, etc, etc…

Interesting! I feel like a great corollary to this is the famous Steve Jobs story about how his Calligraphy classes in college influenced Mac’s fontography system:

I can't forgive them for the fontography though.

As a fellow expert in -s ending names, I completely disagree.

But I would suggest that your take is rooted in your fontography background and its efficiency needs preferring fewer characters.

Whereas I am more persuaded by the overall logic of the grammar to include a full 's.
