😍We were exceptionally lucky at Statistics Denmark to have @thomasp85.com giving a thorough {ggsql} intro, with a focus on motivation and the theoretical foundations
🗣: In the era of LLMs, READABILITY of the code is essential for humans; SQL tops here 🏆

I’m sure that it was super stressful to have the technical problems. And I was a little bummed because I had been looking forward to the talk. HOWEVER, the blog is even better, and I’m sooooo excited that you posted it. I will be parsing every word to understand ggsql! Thank you so much!!

3. awesome new stuff in querychat too like data visualisation via ggsql, and the handoff feature for extracting your analyses for later

I’ll be presenting our work on #ggsql today at #PositConf2026

It will be lovely and whimsical and I hope you’ll join both if your are new to ggsql or have been following along since the spring

I've been hard at work on a new renderer for #ggsql to replace Vega-Lite and it is close to ready for primetime.

Here, you can see it running in the browser, showing of a much improved layout model for faceted plots, along with native markdown rendering

Also added to development version of ggsql too 🫡

Try it out in interactive examples at ggsql.org/syntax/coord....

```
VISUALISE continent AS fill FROM ggsql:world
DRAW spatial
PROJECT TO equal_earth
```

Nice work! 😍 Is this going to be the default ggsql renderer and replace vega lite?

New native renderer for #ggsql supporting smooth resizing, rich text layout (not shown), and infrastructure to support interactivity, plot composition and more is coming along nicely

I'll be presenting Gribouille (Grammar-of-graphics for Typst) next Tuesday (the 30th of June at 5.30pm CEST) at the #ggplot2 extenders meetup.
@teunbrand.bsky.social will be also presenting ggsql (Grammar-of-graphics for SQL), so you have two good reasons to join!

Two talks, both of which describe paradigm-changing developments.

ggsql brings ggplot2 dataviz to relational databases. Imagine all that wrangling already done at the database level

gri-bullya (haha) brings Typst’s beautiful typesetting to the Rmarkdown/Quarto type of workflow. Stunning.
The #ggplot2 extenders are looking forward to hearing about *two* new ggplot2-inspired projects, Tuesday June 30, 11:30 ET. 🚀

- ggsql
- gribouille (grammar of graphics for #Typst).

Learn how they depart from ggplot2 and how AI is being leveraged to build/maintain them!👀🏗️
