#hiPSCs
Extraordinary work by Jess Mella. In a technical tour de force she got over nearly 20k variants into hipscs to study the effects in an important nuclear envelope protein LMNA. She used it to dive into cell, structure, and human genetics biology. Keep an eye on her and her future is bright!

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time for the #FluorescenceFriday post🎄!

This week, we’re featuring a hiPSC reporter line engineered to express 2 fluorescent proteins—located in the nuclei and actin filaments of #hiPSCs, generated using STRAIGHT-IN Dual🧪🔬

Sharing on behalf of my coauthors, delighted to have played a small role in this study
Gene reactivation upon erosion of X chromosome inactivation in female hiPSCs is predictable yet variable and persists through differentiation
In this article, da Rocha and colleagues show that XCI erosion is frequent yet variable in female human iPSCs, leading to reactivation of some X-linked genes, including escapees. This reactivation is ...

New research shows X-chromosome inactivation (XCI) erosion is frequent and variable in female hiPSCs, leading to reactivation of several X-linked genes, like escape genes.

Read this preprint today from @jakobssonlab.bsky.social lab that profiles and CRISPRi perturbs L1 transcription in hiPSCs and cerebral organoids. It is extremely well done. The L1 CRISPRi phenotype in the organoids is subtle and variable but interesting. 1/n
