Aureolaria pectinata, Southern Oak-leach &Seymeria cassioides both are hostplants to the buckeye caterpillar.
These gorgeous #wildflowers exemplify my conviction that leaving "weeds" is far better than potentially pulling unrecognized wildflowers.

Some rad cats I found this past summer🐛 The blinded sphinx was on a red ninebark cultivar at work, and the copper underwing was on the native lupine in my yard. Both fabulous host plants if you love adorable caterpillars.

Today I got my fennel and common rue #hostplants for #swallowtail caterpillars🐛 They tend like fennel and dill plants more, but will lay eggs on rue.

I keep the fennel potted so I can transfer it to a butterfly net and shaded so it doesn't wilt. #butterfly
