yep. the 'human in the loop' needs to be replaced by the 'human on the hook'. we can't send the robot to jail, so there needs to be designated sin-eater for it. I do think jailbroken models are something of a murky area though.

Sorry if this is nonsensical but gameplay loop of Monster Hunter kinda reminds me of Pokémon. Not in the sense that you’re going around capturing and battling monsters, but that you’re a human entering an incredible live ecosystem and learning how to live alongside the creatures who inhabit it

They did what they were designed to do, and because OpenAI ran them with inadequate supervision (without a "human in the loop" that checked each iteration through the Python loop to ensure it hadn't gone off the rails), they trashed a competitor's servers.

Yes, human experience probably involves stuff that looks a lot like generative processes, but the difference is that the weighted model we're putting information through is updating in real time in response to that information.
