Yeah but I don’t like any type of air freshener or anything in the vehicle for extended time due to hyperosmia. I can smell people’s body wash/deodorant/soap when they walk in the office.

Researching a symptom, as we now must. Hyperosmia is a heightened sense of smell, usually temporary. Can cause migraines, can be apparently imaginary scents. For me, it's like kitchen scents got cranked up. Compost, trash can, even opening the fridge is woooah. Great fun, do not recommend. 👎

Ah, got it. Thanks. When you said increasing sensitivity to fragrance I thought you might be referring to something like hyperosmia. It's frustrating how many things have fragrance added!

In MD our air quality is purple. I have hyperosmia (and asthma & MCAS, yay). I can smell the smoke inside the house but it smells like wood smoke and chicken noodle soup to me. So weird.

I got carried away making Pokémon headcanons. 😆 The first is my trainer team (psychic/fairy) and is themed around using my disabilities to fight; their names are each disability referenced. The 2nd 2 are ones I’d wanna have for household convenience purposes; their names are why. Last is a bonus. 😂💖

Migraine Hyperosmia is like being in the omegaverse. I can identify close family and friends blindfolded, tell you perfume notes with scary accuracy, and sadly projectile vomit in a GP waiting room if you're wearing a designer knock off 😵 this moring has been fun

Sometimes you have to personally experience something to believe it. I was exposed to strong cleaning chemicals recently that irritated my eyes and skin. Since that event I have a greatly heightened sense of smell. It's called hyperosmia, feels like wearing glasses for the first time.

For one day, I wish every smoker could experience having hyperosmia to know the nausea and discomfort those of us with the condition feel when they walk into a subway train right after smoking.
