Why not? Why is that any less legitimate a stylistic concern than imagist poets not wanting to sound too flowery or romantic?

The Imagist stuff can get a little OTT, but this one is lovely and I admire and am inspired by WCW who was a physician and wrote on the side (see also Wallace Stevens)

I disavow three things every morning before breakfast, just in csse. I disavowed Imagist Poetry this morning.

I'm a newbie to #toptweettuesday but I love trying to improve my #imagist writing ability. The prompt #revelation

I bit the bruise
got rid of it first
the texture gave

the taste though
more or less
the same

A new short offering written for TTT on themes of "journey", "edge" and "revelation".

'Instead of milkweed, a monarch clings to the windshield'

Thank you @matthewmcsmith.bsky.social for the inspiration 🤍

🎺 Ta-dah! pecospoet.com has had a facelift: same old poet, new digs. It’s now home base for The Sacred Clown’s Modern West Trilogy, plus a few Imagist photos for good measure. Keep yer boots on. 🦉

Imagist poets remind me a lot of Impressionist painters, using words instead of a brush & paint.

Thanks! I did consider putting them the other way round but I think it is better this way. In the Imagist anthology I read that contains actual examples of this the metrical versions are at the back

Entire essay?🙃 An actual scene he saw. Imagist poetry. (I grew up on a farm.) Civilization as we move away from being agrarian? Ordinariness seen as extraordinary? A baptized common tool, yet red& link between nature &man. White chickens/food source, just being. Perception? Don’t overlook laborers?

"A touch of cold in the Autumn night—
I walked abroad"
– T. E. Hulme, "Autumn"

Influential as poet and critic to the Imagist movement – Ezra Pound included a section in his book Ripostes to Hulme's poetry.
