💙📚Today was a good day to check the mail box. As a proud member of the Tsalagi Nation - and a lover (and writer) of dark fiction - I am so ready for this one! 🪶🖤🙌🏾 #horrorfan #horrorstories #indigenousfiction #shortstories @tvayyyy.bsky.social

Starting my review copy of Never Whistle At Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology edited by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr.
Even the introduction is amazing. 🤌

Book no. 19 was Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange.

The first third of the book follows a family through multiple generations over about a century. The rest follows a bunch of contemporary characters going through a trauma.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: "𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵" 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗿 -

Some internal politics as an indigenous artist dares to create with nuance and irony. Can the modern political native tolerate it? Vizenor is candid, funny, and subtle all at once!

A huge thank you to @daturabooks.bsky.social for sending me the prequel to #TheRedCanoe by Wayne Johnson, #TheWitchTree 🤎 Buck Fineday navigates family, trauma and star-crossed romance in his search to track down his wayward brother. Another cracker to add to my TBR pile! 💙📚 #indigenousfiction

Spooky Month reading! This anthology is so damn good, I don’t even have the words for how much I love it so far. I’m about 1/2 way through on audio. I both can’t wait for each new story and never want it to end. #books #reading #IndigenousFiction
