this was actually one of the biggest problems I had working on Susurrus Season of Tides. The coders had never worked with intfiction tools and afaict the creative managing director didn't even play intfic
I have worked on too many projects that bill themselves as "narrative-driven" that have no narrative tools at all, tools that can't import/export, tools that *delete my work when I press save*, that would give anyone tendonitis, but especially anyone who has to examine and create text all day.

All IFTF services are now functional following yesterday's outage, with the exception of Intfiction, which will likely be offline for at least another 12 hours. We appreciate your patience as we try and resolve the lingering linode issues!

We are aware that the Intfiction forums are currently down and are working on a fix. Thank you for the notifications!

i continue to wrestle with complicated feelings about the intfiction community. my MO is generally "cut out toxic people and things that make you upset", but if i ditch that community entirely, i also lose my connection with the people i like there, and the events and conversations i enjoy. (1/?)

Finally muting the AI tag on the intfiction forum so I don’t see any posts tagged with that now. I’d hung on for ages, but my patience has run out. It will make the forum a much happier place for me to hang out. Note the users of this forum are generally very against generative AI in creative work.

for any intfiction people who have read this far: yes this is about the IF community. this is about the transphobes and trigger warning bashers and sexists and creeps who i have to rub virtual shoulders with in order to participate in the community. this is about me being fucking fed up with that

Answering an anonymous poll on the intfiction forum. The answers in this question don't range far enough back 😜 I first played - and became interested in - interactive fiction back in December 1980, 45 years ago this month. Colossal Cave Adventure on an Apple II borrowed over Christmas.

IntFiction Forums has been a war between a new user saying "try my new AI parser game" and 10 people systematically explaining why it doesn't work and why nobody there would want to play it and the same conversation happens every week

So is #IFComp26 going to be run by that broad who doesn't reply to emails and bans people from the event with no discussion and no chance for appeal?

Las dos primeras críticas de Detective en habitación cerrada, han sido de angloparlantes, y eso siendo una aventura en español.

Muy agradecido a la la comunidad de Intfiction por el interés y el esfuerzo en jugar en un idioma no nativo.
