AI has not made any discoveries. Iterative AI models have helped *scientists* make discoveries. No version of LLM (generative or iterative) is autonomous and working under its own direction. Being imprecise with language and allowing AI grifters to co-opt the term “A.I.” in the first place

Everything since has been iterative, not innovative.
Even "chiplets" are iterative, because it's just a new way to do multi-CPU systems which we've had since the 1990s.

too many people treat the maxim of “game dev is an iterative process” as meaning “we should salt the earth every time we have a new idea” rather than “let’s explore and improve the ideas we already agreed on”

There is a fundamental misunderstanding of Machine Learning (ML/Iterative AI) like transcription, medical image analysis, storm prediction and Generative AI (image generators, LLM/GPTs). ML has been used for years and is good in most cases. Iterative is nearly always shit and theft.
