I remember how inspired I felt in 2020 when Economics for Inclusive Prosperity @econfip.bsky.social was launched and I had just started my PhD.
I wouldn't have imagined being on their podcast a couple of years later with Suresh Naidu. Watch out for the episode on #JobGuarantee and #BasicIncome.

Long-term unemployment is a policy choice, not an individual failing. Evidence from the #Marienthal #JobGuarantee shows we can end it, and at a cost public budgets can afford.
I am glad to see my work in this area recognized by the #WileyResearchHeroes Prize, in the Impact Beyond Academia category.

#BasicIncome and #JobGuarantee are often pitted against each other. In our @econfip.bsky.social brief with @maxkasy.bsky.social, we argue they can be complements: Cash gives autonomy & security; Guaranteed jobs add latent benefits of work that cash alone doesn't deliver
