There is no bigger red flag in a data science hiring process for me than a candidate getting a #leetcode/#hackerrank assessment that has nothing to do with the job description or the skillsets required for the job. The company loses out on great candidates, great candidates are demoralized

We send a HackerRank that is NOT LeetCode.
The first two questions are short answers, asking the candidate to respond to a question from another developer/team.
The last one uses the "code review" test. We give a GitHub looking PR diff seeded with bad practices to see how well they review code.

It has a better editor with actual TypeScript support, and a more well rounded set of problems including data structure, algorithms, backend APIs, and frontend React.

I mean things like Hackerrank, Hackerearth, Leetcode, Codewars, etc. They sometimes get a bad rep, but they do teach you the differences and similarities between beautiful code and efficient code.
