Every book has a story behind the story.

Publishing is a community of people—and who gets access to those roles helps shape which stories make it into the world.

That's why we're working to create more equitable pathways into literary agenting.

I’m delighted to be a part of the #LiteraryAgentsOfChange auction again this year! But I’m definitely not the main attraction…not even the plucky comic relief (IYKYK 😆 #GalaxyQuest). There are some super awesome agent-offerings to bid on for those who are #AmQuerying.

Graphic says, what: a bookish auction fundraising for literary agents of change, and all volunteer nonprofit. We offer fellowship and mentorship programs geared towards improving access and retention for literary agents from under representative groups working in Publishing Graphic says: I donate it to the literary auction for change. auction runs between June 8 to June 12 Graphic says why: when marginalized agents have a seat at the table, it creates a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive industry, where marginalized authors can find passionate advocates. Together, we hope that every reader will have the chance to open a book, and see themselves.

A mentor text is used as guidance for new work. E.g., the mentor text demonstrates use of a new technique, or a genre you're trying to enter - you could use a few mentor rhyming texts as you try rhyme or nonfiction as you write a proposal.
