Wallabia bicolor, a 'swamp' #wallaby. Incredible macropods commonly (not exclusively!) associated with thick understorey. They are also a key prey item for #dingoes in our local area.

Marvellous macropods, now we’re talking! How does land use and climate change affect macropod habitat?

Swamp Wallabies are small macropods of Aust's eastern states ranging from the coast to well inland. They inhabit thick undergrowth in forests and woodland and are mostly active at night. Filmed this much-scarred bold old guy at Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens.

@BrainXpansion

That’s a tree kangaroo.

They’re found in live in lowland and mountainous rainforests in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Australia.

They’re macropods and are adapted to living a life in trees.

Devastating footage, Toolache wallabies were such beautiful animals, among the most resplendent macropods.

Probably Propleopus! A liberal application of "kangaroo" indeed, as its closest living relative is the musky rat kangaroo, the least kangaroo-like of all extant macropods.

For this #WildlifeWednesday is the endangered Northern Bettong (Bettongia tropica) found in Far North Queensland. During the day, these solitary nocturnal macropods take shelter in a nest – one that they built from plant material collected using their prehensile tail!

Osphranter robustus, the 'common' #wallaroo. The species is sexually dimorphic with males (pictured) tending to be much darker than females. Commonly associated with hilly country, these large macropods are found locally in grassland, woodland and forest.
