Definitely project ReCreator aka the Makerbot Legacy, which is a mod that converts the motion system of a voron legacy to any Makerbot Replicator or clone.

That was the case for about a decade, but we are rapidly approaching set-and-forget with the newest generation. Going from a MakerBot Rep2 to a Bambu X1C personally was such an incredible upgrade, it's really amazing how well they work right out of the box with barely any print defects

there's definitely a lot of "waiting for the tech to catch up" but I think of the valley between "printer as freedom / printer as a hobby in itself" from reprap, prusa, creality, to "printer as an appliance & means to an end" from bambu (and I guess makerbot, who tried and failed)

I thought the design of the 3D printer looked very different to the bed slingers and core-XY machines we have on the market nowadays.
Upon further research, it seems to be based on the MakerBot Replicator+.
