a raspberry crown borer clearwing moth. its yellow and black stripes and other markings and narrow brown wings make it a remarkable wasp mimic. this is a male, his feathery antennae throw off the look a little (females have normal antennae) Pennisetia marginatum when the moth got sick of me it began flapping its wings and lifting its abdomen a little, adding some body language to the imitation - nice! a big fuzzy yellow robberfly with a resemblance to your standard bumblebee - Laphria affinis presumably
