Section 230 shouldn't be abolished because the user who creates harmful content should be the one responsible rather the platform that hosts it. Doing so could also encourage platforms to remove content out of fear and this can negatively impact free expression online. ##Media180FA262D01

Surveillance capitalism is a violation of our freedoms in this country. We should not have to worry about being watched and out data being sold. #Media180FA262D01

#Media180FA262D01 Music scenes in the US are currently evolving. Just because physical records were a thing of the past doesn't mean it's dead. Despite music royalties held with strict protections, they will never shift away from the culture they belong to. DIY movements will matter to communities.

The surveillance industry not only creates products that are utilized to violate enumerated rights, but given its symbiotic relationship to arm manufacturing, and the “dual-use” nature of the tech, goes without saying, these companies are culpable for war crimes in a “dual” sense. #Media180FA262D01

I do not believe that the concept of a music scene is a thing of the past but things have definitely changed. Local scenes can still thrive on a smaller scale but streaming has made it possible to discover music that is outside of your region. Streaming is less expensive too. #Media180FA262D01

I agree with your stance on surveillance capitalism. What initially seemed to be a beneficial program for society has become a weapon against the people it was meant to serve. Our social freedoms are slowly being weeded out, and the curtain protecting our identities is thinning. #Media180FA262D01

Decentralizing media consumption has its ups and downs when it comes to political engagement, but I would primarily disagree with you. Social media algorithms have unquestionably harmed more than helped political discourse by siloing, misinforming, and radicalizing users. #Media180FA262D01

And right now, the government is tracking down users of social media who are voicing their criticisms against Trump and his policies. Not only is a violation of privacy but also free speech. They're still benefiting from these tactics.

I agree with your stance on music scenes in today's world. The trajectory of local music scenes has definitely changed, but the introduction of streaming services has opened up many new horizons for growth. Streaming has allowed the diversity of music to grow exponentially. #Media180FA262D01

While political media has shaped the internet culture and democracy in our nation, it is impossible to engage in social discourse. Both sides of the political spectrum cannot agree with one another. Radicalization and misinformation are easy for users to argue in a negative way.

I think the internet has left a positive mark on democracy within our nation. The internet's ability to provide society with the opportunity to consume and respond to political media has helped democracy thrive; social discourse is necessary to uphold our nation's democratic roots. #Media180FA262D01

I believe music scenes are not in the past but have changed. We mostly see people listening to music online like Apple Music and Spotify, than it being physical copy. Many people do still enjoy the classics of music and it's value. It is now easier to have the music on your phone. #Media180FA262D01

I believe “music scenes” in the trad sense of the meaning are mostly a thing of the past. I would say that scenes today are largely based around local performers with cult followings that play live gigs. Seems fewer gig performers have a distinct sound or even play original music. #Media180FA262D01

The internet is a good way to put out political views to help get more people to agree. On media people consume what they are being shown or what is seen. When we share our ideas with each other it brings us together as a society. So I agree the internet helps us with democracy. #Media180FA262D01

I agree with the lack of a distinct sound. It feel like new artists are focused on following trends to achieve immediate success rather than forming their own sounds and loyal fan base.

I am against surveillance capitalism because it is an invasion of our privacy. Tracking us shouldn't be a way to protect us online. When on the internet/social media they can track us and recommend us other things by stealing our data to benefit themselves like gaining profit. #Media180FA262D01
