The Church of St. Polyeuktos was built by Anicia Juliana in 520s Constantinople, excavated in 1960s, and currently being excavated by Istanbul Metropolian Muncipality (İBB).

Today is the Orthodox feast day of St. Polyeuktos, martyr from Melitene (modern Malatya).

San Polieucto de Melitene fue un soldado turco que vivió en el siglo III. A raíz del decreto del emperador Decio que obligaba a sacrificar a los dioses, rompió los ídolos. Por esta razón resultó cruelmente martirizado y, finalmente, decapitado, recibiendo así el bautismo con su propia sangre.
