Addressing widespread misconceptions like this should be a top priority for journalism organizations. Instead they're obsessed with "fostering debate" — an approach that reinforces the misconceptions even more.

A really good thread that clarifies some popular misconceptions.
I was talking about the strikes with a co-worker at an industry-adjacent job and he had some pretty major misunderstandings which I’ve also seen in a few comments. So here’s a 🧵 about where we are and how we got here.

This is coming from a guy who lied on the stand about a protester, only to be humiliated by video of what actually happened, leading a jury to acquit in an hour. This vapid shitbag liar wants to “correct misconceptions?”
From a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson tonight on Greg Bovino being summoned to court:

“DHS can think of nobody better to correct Judge Ellis’s deep misconceptions about its mission, and we thank him for his service.”
"Produce Defendant Gregory Bovino, in person."

I've had an EV for 3 years now.
They're FANTASTIC.
I would NEVER go back to a fossil fuel car.
Charge up at home, no problems.
I save ££££££ on feeding greedy fossil fuel companies.
And more importantly, I don't spew out cancer causing fumes out of my rear end!!

Hopefully this puts to bed a whole lot of misconceptions. Like Republicans being good people, fiscally responsible people, people of faith, and that they're policies are for the working people and their families.
I truly hope this puts a definitive end to the perpetual insistence by Democrats that they can compromise with Republicans. You can't. These people are extreme, depraved, and shameless. They just stripped healthcare from 17 million people to give themselves a tax cut.

But it's not. You're just spouting poorly informed misconceptions.

Two common misconceptions are on my mind today: 1. Overestimating the power of a single day of protest. 2. Underestimating the power of a single day of protest.
