I used Nisus Writer Pro on my Mac for 20 years & a month or so ago was forced to emergency-find a new program because NWP abruptly stopped being supported (I think age of founders).
Reluctantly (& solely because @cstross.bsky.social rec'd it) I downloaded LibreOffice. I am really liking it.

The hallway at BEPA is filled with portraits of NWP members. The only woman of color on the wall is Mary Church Terrell, a (perhaps short-term?) member of NWP. It wasn't put up by NWP, but by park rangers when the site reopened as an NPS site in 2016. We're still trying to do more #HATM

Yes. It is amazing what they can do. It just amuses me that the first step in every single one of these AI-is-better-than-NWP papers involves
1. Creating a long reanalysis using an NWP system
2. Initialising the system with the output of an NWP system.

Alice Paul was still working within the NWP when the parade happened. She and other “militant” suffs will form the Congressional Union shortly after the 1913 parade, which will become the NWP in 1917.

Really curious how many regular atmospheric soundings are going to be suspended because of this and how quickly this will degrade NWP.
