Well, and that's what makes a difference. I started my journey as an Indigenous person just a few years ago when another friend of mine suggested I look up my family history because I was 'Walking the Red Road'.Sure enough their intuition turned out to be right, my maternal grandma is Oodham.

I'm Akimel O'odham, which is a tribe of the broader Tohono Oodham lands. Each band separated itself, among other ways, but the Salt and Gila rivers of the Arizona-Sonoma desert.

What's Oodham?
September 23, 2026 at 12:15 PM
Mom keeps saying she's white, and I have to correct her and tell her she's Oodham. She says, "Well I was raised white so I'm white."

I confess I don't know what to do with her some days on this subject. It makes me feel like a pretendian.

Okay great. I'm Oodham. Now that we got that out of the way.

What do you expect me to do that I'm not doing? How do you expect me to protest 24/7/365 when doing so would cost me my healthcare, housing, and food security...?

No unique forms of life in my Eloy except secret time travelers. I don't THINK any native animals or plants were important to Eloy's founders. The Tohono Oʼodham predated Eloy, but I don't think they had a settlement there.

Per this 1918 ad for Eloy, my answer is cotton? #Septopolis #HistorytownAZ

The feckers take forever. You need a Tohono Oodham sense of time

This is absolutely unacceptable. Armed federal agents are trespassing to build a border wall on sovereign land, destroying sacred spaces, cutting a reservation in half and taking away access to water and land. Support the Tohono O'doham nation. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfkd...

It’s from a Tohono Oodham word meaning small springs or place of small springs. Also not all of the state is arid. It’s got vast forests and snowy mountains. Actual ski resorts

New Sticker for Halloween is up in my shop! Figured I'd try to put up some fall stuff this year since I really didn't get to do it last year.

The Tohono O'odham Nation is installing "no trespassing" signs on the vast Southern Arizona reservation. "If the contractors enter our lands for this purpose, without prior authorization from the nation, they would be illegally trespassing."

Pima cotton is Pima (Akimel Oʼodham) Native cotton. They grew cotton on the Gila and Salt Rivers, long before colonization. (O’odham means “river people”)
(The current cultivar is modern)
Cotton can tolerate salt that food crops can’t, and the Salt, the Gila, and the Colorado are salty rivers.
