@d2718 what repo are you looking at? Usually, a haxe-based project will have an .hxml and that's basically that ecosystem's equivalent of a Makefile (though frameworks such as openfl have their own project file format). You shouldn't have to manually set anything up. It's very light on […]

You know, maybe my current version of Lime is good enough for now. Maybe I don't need to pull new commits.

As you can see in the screenshot, there are some minor glitches in the Papervision3D rendering. The triangles are drawn with slight gaps. A minor issue to look into how OpenFL draws vectors.

Papervision3D draws its triangles using basic graphics.moveTo() and graphics.lineTo() calls.

Last one for the week: The CoverFlow component for #AdobeFlex, created by Doug McCune, compiled from #ActionScript to JavaScript with #ApacheRoyale and running on #OpenFL instead of Flash Player.

The CoverFlow component uses #Papervision3D, the first big 3D engine for #AdobeFlash, before Stage 3D.

Day 3 of projects compiled from #ActionScript to #JavaScript using #ApacheRoyale, and running on #OpenFL instead of #AdobeFlash. Today, it's the open source Hungry Hero game created by Hemanth Sharma.

Hungry Hero was built with Starling 1.8 and the Starling Particle Extension.

If you're interested in making browser games with Haxe, give my Haxe Gamelib a try!

This library sits behind the game I've made between 2008-2019 (Orbital Decay, Born of Fire TD and others).

It's got lots of wheels so you don't need to reinvent them ;)

Today, I'm featuring the #AdobeFlex SpringGraph component open sourced by Mark Shepherd. It is written in #ActionScript, but compiled with #ApacheRoyale to JavaScript and running on top of #OpenFL.

I recently archived the component's source code on GitHub: github.com/joshtynjala/...

This week, I'll be sharing another set of #ActionScript and #AdobeFlex projects I've compiled with #ApacheRoyale to run on JavaScript and WebGL using #OpenFL. No browser plug-ins. AS3 *transpiled* to JS.

First, is the Employee Admin sample app for the #PureMVC library. Built with Flex 3.

Day 3 of projects compiled from #ActionScript 3.0 to JavaScript using #ApacheRoyale and running on the #OpenFL library. Today, I'm showing off the Demo project from #StarlingFramework. Starling is 2D GPU-powered framework that was designed for #AdobeFlash. In OpenFL, it runs on WebGL instead.

A few screenshots of another #AdobeFlex app compiled to JS with #ApacheRoyale and running on #OpenFL instead of #AdobeFlash.

This is the "Cafe Townsend" sample for the Cairngorm MVC framework. It demonstrates that I've gotten enough of Flex working to build a fully-functional CRUD-style app.

that is true but it runs with openfl and haxe which are very multipurpose and may fit your use case

update on the dynamically streaming audio in haxepunk thing: i did get it to work, it turns out the example openfl example code for feeding it a sine wave was, wrong. i found a raylib example that also generated a sine wave and copied the generator pattern over as a test and here we are no clipping

Hi there, can I join? I make games with Haxe and OpenFL (and recently getting into Away3D too).

this time brought to you by: haxe? or openfl? replacing colons in process arguments with hashtags just completely inexplicably

I'm 99% sure it's some kind of sanitizing or formatting it's doing to make sure the command runs, but fucking *why* this in particular

Looking for an open source version of Flash? You can try OpenFL. http://gamasutra.com/blogs/LarsDoucet/20140318/213407/Flash_is_dead_long_live_OpenFL.php

Between 2020 and 2022, I was working with Haxe + OpenFL.

Unity is nice, but Haxe/OpenFL is my goto for my personal 2D game projects.

But there's a relatively easy fix for that...changing to renderer from OpenFL to the Haxe version of Starling. The APIs are mostly identical, so a lot of it is just switching out some package names.

Took about two days, but I've got everything working with only some minor annoyances.

Currently developing my personal game project, Drop-In Dungeon, using #OpenFL, written in #Haxe.

The web build runs almost perfectly out of the box on my wife's five year old Samsung Galaxy phone...

And runs like crap on my five year old iPhone 12 😓

(I could easily just gussy up any of my dozens of prototypes of Haxe+OpenFL and build them for Windows. But that’d be cheating 😅)
