Okay, even I, a geology enthusiast, am genuinely impressed by this! New DNA treatment lowered bad cholesterol by 47% in mice and PCSK9 protein by 87% in liver cells with just one injection. No statins needed!

In statements Trump made regarding his recent physical, the Dr. reportedly said his "...cholesterol is well controlled."

That almost certainly means he is taking a statin or one of the newer PCSK9 inhibitors.

The average person with "controlled cholesterol" likely has heart disease.

Today, siRNA drugs are largely used to treat liver diseases, partly because that’s the easiest starting point.

And they are extremely effective at it. One example is for cholesterol: siRNA drugs reduce PCSK9 levels by around 70%, reducing cholesterol levels by 50-60%, beyond the effect of statins.
