Kid suggested network level adblock with Raspberry Pi and Pihole and as it's fundamentally just a DNS server, the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W at $15 and any old 2A phone charger will do just fine. I guess I can't say no to a 20 euro project like this 🙃

Network Scanner Finds Every Raspberry Pi
Reminder that, like their Mister Pi (which I have and love!) this is Mister-based and runs all the existing cores. Highly recommend pairing this with RetroNAS if you don't have an existing solution to streamline ROM management. Can be achieved cheaply with a Raspberry Pi attached to a USB drive.

Somewhere in this house is a Raspberry Pi 5 that is plugged into power. It kicked on after a power outage and connected to the network. I ssh'd into it and shut it down but I have _no_ idea where it is.

No *you* just knocked down your home network by trying to consume the firehose with at-kafka but forgetting all DNS lookups go through your pihole, running on a raspberry pi that absolutely cannot handle that volume.

Consider installing a Pi-hole DNS inside your own network and configure your router to advertise that DNS instead of the one your ISP advertises. You can block all the ads and malware with publicly curated blocklists so that ads on webpages are just empty frames. Http://pi-hole.net
