My $5 Radio Shack soldering iron finally croaked. Damn I miss Radio Shack. It was a terrifying but wonderful place full of stacks of electronic bits that if put into the right configuration you could build a monster that could destroy us all.

Bullied! At the Pier1 Imports
One of my most prized possessions is a Pier1 lime green mug that says ‘lol’. My mom got it for me during the ‘haha the kids chat speak is cute’ era of the late 00s. Hated it at the time, but its journey with me as everything goes to shit plus the below post has made it age like fine wine.
you will have to pry the millennial “lol” from my cold dead hands. i don’t know how else to express minor despair. if i didn’t say “lol” after admitting i’m a husk inside, i’d have to develop emotional resilience, and i simply don’t have time for that

I got 8 staples in the top of my head because an iron table base fell on it from a great height when I worked at Pier1 Imports. For some reason I did not sue about it.

Had a console table here that worked in our last house but not so much in this one. Yesterday I spotted my old Pier1 puzzle desk in the garage and asked Jon if he’d like to have a desk in this corner of the dining room instead. Boom!

Many years ago when I worked at Pier1 Imports, Dido’s song Thank You was on the store soundtrack. As I was already a Dido fan I realized very quickly they *cut out the words of the song* where she said “I’m late for work again.” As though we’d get ideas or something.
