We picked a few bucketloads of Kieffer’s pears for the rootstock project. Usually I’m delivering leftover pomace of specific single variety pressings as a seed matrix for developing new rootstocks. This time just pears, and they’ll pick the pips out by hand. Happened to know a man with a tree.

Imo wine would make a neat replacement for juice in this scenario. All the sugar is gone so the liquid isn’t sticky and you get the effect of being tipsy/drunk. Plus there’s all the pomace to contend with in *other vessels* if you get my drift

Hmmm, maybe. The whole seeds in the pomace are perfect. Thing is, not every fruit develops seeds, so they may go through those pears and have very little in the end. But the quality is not necessarily better. It’s just a numbers game 😁
