People tend to lose their shit when an iconic movie gets remade, but I just saw an instagram ad for a RoboCop cinema screening and they didn’t even bother specifying (1987). It’s like the remake just disappeared without trace.

The infuriating thing about the current framing is it's all "Are the Democrats going to shut down the government?" and not "Will the Republicans stop an illegal oligarch coup?" Almost as if the outcome was preordained.
