I wouldn’t even call them shitposts, this is Facebook Unc Slop and the fact that elites are unable to recognize that and think it’s insightful is a sign of just how bad their private media consumption is. Really makes you wonder about what’s going on in their groupchats!

I posted something like this on a private leftish Facebook group I belong to, and it now has about 650 reactions.

485 of them are laughs.

I honestly don’t know what we’re doing anymore.
This thing with Susan Dell has to stop. It’s gone way too far for way too long. It’s just senseless cruelty, of the sort we have long hated MAGA for. I was in on it a bit in the beginning, and I’m ashamed of myself.

We‘ve handed MAGA the strongest moral argument to use against us I can recall.

Michael Gondeck and some of the other moderators of "Trump Illinois MAGA Official" have made the decision to make their Facebook group private. We think this is the direct result of Jake Lang's visit.

When you start organizing events with Nazis, shits gonna get spicy.

Before I left Facebook one of my favorite private groups was a group my friend started and it was just sharing posts about men fucking up instacart orders. Men who have never shopped or cooked or done anything adjacent in their entire lives making monumentally idiotic choices in grocery stores

What makes Perfect Wives, Perfect Lies compelling is its unwillingness to present loneliness as something easily fixed by friendship or self-awareness. Becca knows her online life is unhealthy, but knowing doesn’t make leaving it any easier. #bookreview #writing #reading #books #fiction
The Perfect Life That Never Was
Jennifer Anne Gordon’s Perfect Wives, Perfect Lies contains an uncomfortable understanding about loneliness: sometimes pretending to have a better life feels easier than living the one you have. Rebecca “Becca” Gauthier, a forty-one-year-old social worker, is grieving the loss of her son, Gabe, and the end of her marriage. Her escape is Mommy Wine Time, a private Facebook group of women whose expensive habits and carefully arranged meals seem to have immunized them from the normal misery of life. Becca knows a lot of it is ludicrous. She sees. She can’t help it. Gordon turns this innocuous obsession into a dark, razor-sharp study of grief and the dangerous pleasure of becoming someone else.

They may say something different privately to them but I suspect not. It’s a private Facebook group (set up by the charity) and it’s all very kind.

Oh well. I’m there trying to be cheery and keep myself on target, and hopefully support others.

Not a Falcons fan but Zac Robinson was my college roommate’s best friend from high school. He was in a private Facebook group for Big 12 quarterbacks (I was told, couldn’t confirm) which I thought was kinda funny and cute
(This is a dog whistle for Falcons fans to post about Zac Robinson lol)

Was there a message board for pervy massage therapists, a Facebook group, a WhatsApp group chat?

Someone is recruiting these "private contractors."

Someone has a lot to answer for.

chiropractors are fake, stop trusting that shit

(Also at least one was selling raw milk out of his office and in a private Facebook group (Of Course) connected a woman to some random 23 year old selling raw milk that put two kids in the hospital)

That’s not a rumour from a Facebook group. That’s on the record, with names, dates and a boardroom by the private jet hangars at Calgary International. 4/

2.

One of the two reasons I'm still on Facebook is that its private-group functionality is extremely hard to reproduce elsewhere.

I found this on Facebook in a private group. I thought it was funny. So I shared with my friends (very briefly). Facebook informed me that it goes against standards for promoting suicide and self-harm.
I'm promoting no such thing; I just thought it was funny.
Now I'll find what Bluesky thinks.

A debate against two of the worst people.

These people need to do this debate in a private Facebook group like all the other horrible people not on tv.

We need better.

I wrote a sarcastic bitchy comment on Facebook, in a private group, and it straight up wouldn't post it. Nowadays they want you to pay if you share more than two links off-site per month. They're just gonna give up on their few pretend social features and be a full-time ad company soon.

This is an awful story about horrible things happening to children, and I don’t want to downplay that. But I am serious when I ask what is the deal with chiropractors? I’ve gone a couple times, not anymore. But it was never an experience that felt…medically sound.

The next to go was Facebook. Honestly that was less political than being driven crazy by the proliferation of ads, pop-ups and garbage posts, "recommended for you". Dealt with it by ignoring the main page, going directly to a private group (Finnish language) but eventually deleted my account.
