Have you seen this short video about the process of conversion of biosolids into biochar fertilizer from the first wastewater treatment plant in Canada to adopt the practice?

Also, pyrolysis can destroy PFAS and microplastics too! It should be adopted everywhere.

People, we need to speed up. There is abundant biomass for pyrolysis via seaborne macroalgae. But without the hydrogen pipelines, that biomass is simply not available.

Let's do this!

Where are the investments in small mobile gasification or pyrolysis units with CO2 capture to produce a resource for e bio jet fuel and recover nutrients? I guess finance and insurance prefer healthcare expenses than healthcare protection.
Every year, farmers in northern India and Pakistan burn crop stubble in two waves — generally peaking in April and November. The impacts of this are usually felt more intensely during the colder months, like November, due to the cold air trapping emissions, dust and smoke reut.rs/4fepLJg

NB 1: Rotoboost's methane pyrolysis involves high temperatures & gases & solids & liquid metal catalysts (nickel, bismuth, copper) - very difficult in chemical engineering.
NB 2: They burn methane to provide process heat! A big CO2 release, just like conventional steam-methane reforming of H2.

That does sound nice, except plastic decays in the sun (photo-oxidation). Every single one of those posts needs to be replaced, at maximum, within five years. Otherwise they become too brittle to hold the wires.

We have the technology to revert plastic back to pyrolysis oil. Celebrate that.

Tractors, diggers and pyrolysis units are required to drag the macroalgae from the beach, and create the solid carbon (graphite or graphene) and hydrogen, which must be sent via pipeline to industry centres. Or ammonia, if you want to do it that way.

Characterizing the High Isomeric Complexity of Bio-Oils Derived from Biomass Pyrolysis Using Liquid Chromatography Hyphenated with 18 T Fourier-Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry
AbstractLignocellulosic biomass is the most abundant type of renewable feedstock. It can be used to produce bio-oils, often by pyrolysis processes. Depending on the treatment and feedstocks used, the bio-oils obtained present very different molecular compositions, influencing their upgrading process into biofuels. As they are highly complex mixtures, their molecular characterizations are challenging. One way, among others, is to probe their molecular level by using direct infusion in Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometry (FTICR MS). However, mass spectrometry alone cannot discriminate between isomers, and a loss of information because of ionization competition can be observed. Hyphenation of liquid chromatography (LC) with FTICR MS can afford an efficient solution to these issues but requires compromises, mainly on the MS side. In this work, we evaluated the performance of a new 18 T FTICR MS coupled to reversed-phase liquid chromatography for the characterization of bio-oils. Using representative standards of different molecular families (carbohydrates, polyphenols, acids, etc), a method adapted to bio-oils was developed in LC-FTICR MS. The coupling demonstrated the high mass-accuracy stability of FTICR MS even under high total ion current variations and revealed the very high isomeric complexity of bio-oils. Additionally, the coupling reduced ionization competition, enabling the detection of compounds that could not be detected by direct injection. Finally, four bio-oils were compared to highlight the interest of the proposed method.

Likely dead means no activity signals: stale website, no deliveries, no responses. Not a confirmed shutdown. Biochar's low capex invites small operators, and a two-person pyrolysis firm can exit without a filing or a tracker update. Nobody counts the exit.
