The radicalization of the American right is THE story of US politics over the last four decades and political reporters are still not allowed to talk about it
I am wondering why Lisa Leher from the @nytimes.com did not discuss the data that suggests political violence in the US in the current era mostly comes from the right. Seems like a strange fact to ignore. 1/ www.nytimes.com/2025/06/14/u...

Radicalization, not polarization.
I think this might be what pundits call “polarization”?

Every few months we get a profile of the "maverick" Republicans who will push back against the party's radicalization and every single time the author blithely acknowledges that they will not, in fact, be pushing back against the party's radicalization.

Riding a bike is one path toward radicalization in The War on Cars.
A common thread among newer cyclists is realizing just how awful drivers are. There are things you simply don't notice — behavior that has been normalized — when you mostly drive. Biking, walking, or rolling through the world changes that.

Concepts are never politically innocent.

We must call things what they are.

It's not polarization; it's the radicalization of the political right.

How can an individual be “polarized”?

An individual can be “radicalized”.

Anyway, most “polarization” literature is about right-wing radicalization.

Stop using the term “polarization” for radicalization on one pole!

Isn’t it interesting that white Christians are always ready to call out “Islamic radicalization” but never “Christian radicalization?” Yet another of a litany of hypocrisies from the religious right. WWJD my foot! 🤬 If only they actually followed Jesus’s teachings…

It's useful to understand how the radicalization process works.

It's helpful to know the personality types who are most vulnerable to radicalization.

I'm not a big believer in deradicalization's effectiveness, tho I respect those who do derad work.

Derad usually doesn't work. It comes too late 9/

Sucks that my radicalization makes me think that more people should have healthcare, affordable housing, and better paying jobs while other people’s radicalization drives them to want the state to hurt marginalized groups
