The fear among academics and lawyers now talking on the record on just about any topic that involves the federal government or the White House is really extraordinary and worrisome, and getting worse, it seems to me, every week. Dissent by an establishment figures becoming verboten in the US

I think @wajali.bsky.social was clear. He acknowledges the current fight, but asks @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social to lead on the long term goal of abolishing ICE. I don’t understand the leader’s reticence on that very simple, and frankly moderate position.

Don't forget that 41 Tory MPs in the last government took Russian donations. That might account for media reticence to report on the Nathan Gill case.

Very talented people can do really bad things. I want ya’ll to start sitting with that reality. When someone behaves poorly, you try to discredit their past so it makes it easier on your brain to hate them. I want you to know that you can hate them anyway baby. I do it all the time 🧘🏽♀️

People often claim it's a mistake to call far-right figures racist. But it's extremely telling how much they hate being called racist. Farage doesn't welcome it. He is afraid of it. And he has benefited from people's reticence about using it to describe his policies.
