Font in use — my Rossica text #typeface.
I take photos for my new website.
Though, probably, #Cyrillic isn't familiar to most of my readers here, I hope that Rossica creates a pleasant text pattern for you.
Italic here.

Another fascinating non-photosynthesizing plant. This one is commonly referred to as the Groundcone, scientific name Boschniakia rossica. These plants use mycorrhizal fungi to acquire their nutrients as they don't produce their own chlorophyll. #fungifriends #fungi #plants #groundcone

Rossica and her moths. Her loneliness throughout childhood attracted an entity that serves as both her friend and protector. She's never seen it fully formed, only the many hands it manifests and the moths that accompany it. 💚

Oh, a finding from many years ago — some of my fonts, and names of my TypeMedia course classmates, set in those fonts. Amalta here has the name which I changed later. Poster was meant for an exhibition

Thinking about a series — Types of Love — on one hand, showcasing the characters of my fonts; on the other, exploring the variety of love we lose in today’s simplified language.
The Ancient Greeks felt all those nuances!

2/2 This volume, part of the Higher School of Economics’ Rossica inedita (Novye istochniki po istorii Rossii) series, presents the first scholarly edition of a secret diary, written in German by a translator at the Muscovite Ambassadorial Chancery.

My copy is in the classroom but it was translated by John Elsworth (I think) and the translation won the 2012 Rossica Prize? It means nothing to me but it may mean something to you! 🤣

Rossica is so modest, that many shall just walk past 😊 That's what very often happens to altruistic love as well.

Awesome plant alert! 🌱🚨 This is the northern groundcone (*Boschniakia rossica*), a parasitic plant that lacks chlorophyll & obtains its nutrients from the roots of alder & other shrubs. Spotted along the trail down to our #SitkaNSF field site.

I've seen them in Denmark and they don't look any different to this. But HBW says it has clinal variation, they get paler and greyer up into northern Scandinavia and Russia, etc. Apparently very pale NE origins were formerly treated as ssp. rossica, no longer recognised as not definable.

beautiful! but if you didn't do microscopy, you should better identify it to genus level only, since species level requires microscopy. further reading (links to north american species included): www.inaturalist.org/journal/mang...
