Another little script I've wanted to make for a while: a CLI utility to just take a multiple alignment, and convert sequence numbering from one species to another.

When dealing with long sequences like ryanodine receptors (5000aas) this really helps (at least for me!):

Muscle-specific Ryanodine receptor 1 properties underlie limb-girdle muscular dystrophy 2B/R2 progression - Nature Communications
In this study by Meizoso-Huesca et al. regional skeletal muscle differences in ryanodine receptor Ca2+ leak were found. Without dysferlin, this raised leak is not tolerated long-term and leads to limb...

🧪In combination with SPINA-GR and whole-exome sequencing, calculating SPINA-GBeta made the discovery of a new form of monogenetic diabetes (MODY) possible. This new DM is characterised by primary insulin resistance and results from a missense variant of the type 2 ryanodine receptor (RyR2) gene. 🩺
Breaking news: In combination with whole-exome sequencing, #SPINA_Carb helped to discover a new form of #MODY #diabetes, caused by an atypical missense variant in the #RyR2 gene (coding the the type 2 #ryanodine receptor). doi.org/10.3389/fend... 🧪🩺

If you know Ryan, you know that that he has named a "receptor" on you he likes to call his Ryanodine receptor 1 (RYR1). He enjoys this RYR1, triggering an excitation-contraction coupling until your muscles are weak.
He likes it so hot, he drives you to malignant hyperthermia.
Hot enough?
