the effect is entirely explained by self-selection, being willing to tolerate misogyny is the primary requirement for staying on that website
Legitimate question: Leftists and socialists on Twitter (I'm not talking about moderates or even conservatives, of course) are far more pro-Platner, while Bluesky is far more anti-Platner. What gives? #MESen

Been a while since I’ve been in a theater with self serve drink selection. I prefer it because you get more flexibility with what you put in your popcorn

In grad school, I had a section with three very outspoken conservative guys, who insisted that academia was biased against them.

I said, no, it's more likely conservatives are biased against academia. I didn't mean a conspiracy, just self-selection.
also conservatives tend to go for careers that will make them a lot of money, and none of those are that (unless you happen to get REALLY lucky)

There's also self-selection. People interested in research and teaching stay in academia. People interested in making money do not.

This is a good day for a lot of the bigger accounts to prune a bunch of lib followers via self selection.

The self-selection bias of who ends up on TV is so fucking bad every time 😭
August 29, 2026 at 4:12 PM
Yeah, I thought it was something like that. Malignant narcissists don’t see their children as unique human beings but as self-reflecting objects, so the sex selection tracks.
