#sitespeed
It's a minor footnote in the trail of prevarications and half-truths that follow React everywhere it goes, but it's pretty incredible that the poster children are *this* bad given 2024 devices and networks:

The Wes Bos video about the McMaster website performance *may* achieve 1M views by end of this week (currently at ~940k), if not by the 4th week. Just about web performance. Imagine that!

RUM data backs this up. Bsky is another React superfund site, and that's bad for growth:

If you have a #Shopify store and you want to monitor your site speed and how it affects metrics like Core Web Vitals, bounce rate, and conversions, this app is a game changer. Plus, there's no coding or developer time required to get started!

#webperf #ux #pagespeed #sitespeed #corewebvitals
I was excited when @speedcurve.com reached out to me to build their #Shopify app - now it's easier to integrate full real-user performance data collection in Shopify storefronts and correlate that data with bounce rates and conversions.

Now you can see exactly how #webperf impacts your bottom line!

Calculating downtime loss is pretty simple: if your site averages $100K/hour in revenue and you suffer a 3-hour outage, you lost ~$300K.

Calculating loss due to #sitespeed is a bit trickier, but doable. Here's one formula you can use: www.speedcurve.com/blog/downtim...

SpeedCurve | Downtime vs slowtime: Which costs you more?
Page slowdowns can cause as much damage as downtime, hurting revenue, brand health, and permanent abandonment rate.
