A little solar photography from last Friday (2026-10-09) - lots of activity in that one little area, but not much elsewhere. Still cool to see the shapes!

Großartige Szene. Leider fallen jedem Physiker/Astronomen alle Haare aus, sobald die ersten Worte im Film fallen… “wir sind eine Milliarde Meilen hier her (fremdes Solarsytem) gereist…“ Ja… Nein! Das ist gerade mal bis zum Jupiter… 😆

Oooo! I got into the Wildgate (think Solarsytem of Thieves) playtest this weekend. Apparently I can gift out some xbox and playstation invites - I have no idea to whom or how many, but holla if you want one on these platforms and I'll see what I can do

Can we really track Martian meteorites back to the visible craters on Mars that they came from. A study combining multiple strands of evidence says yes #solarsytem #astronomy 🧪

The source craters of the martian meteorites: Implications for the igneous evolution of Mars
Most of the ~200 known martian meteorites are from five impact craters on Mars, located on volcanoes in Tharsis and Elysium.

hmm... math... r co-orbiting bodies more likely to end up contacting if th both of them are orbiting a 3rd?

in the phase space of all 3 body systems what % end up ejecting 1 of them? what % end up smashing 2 of them together?

in th forming solarsytem does th chaos tend to eject bodies or smash em
