80% waning moon from October 29th. Love the long streaks of dust from crater impacts stretched across the seas (the dark areas).

I took this image of the 63% waxing moon on October 19th. I much prefer partial moon phases to the full moon because the shadows along the terminator show off some extra texture.

Touptek blue is my favorite blue. Is this 2600 MM?
October 28, 2026 at 10:37 AM
Well it is an astro camera, but you're wrong on the "poshness". Touptek is a budget brand (doesn't necessarily mean it's bad).

Thanks! ^^ I use a ToupTek Astro G2M-290C, in a Sky-Watcher Mercury 707. For this image I also used a 2x Barlow lens.

Yesterday I had a little time to observe the nearly first-quarter Moon before it disappeared behind the trees. This image is a mosaic stitched together from 14 separately stacked sections, captured back to back.

This morning I managed to capture Jupiter, though the weather conditions weren't the best. Still, better results than Saturn. Now back to waiting for the Moon. And working on that Mia drawing. :D

Thank you for your comment. That was shot over many nights with an Askar 71F scope and a Touptek ATR585M camera using Touptek filters.

A little solar photography from last Friday (2026-10-09) - lots of activity in that one little area, but not much elsewhere. Still cool to see the shapes!

Saturn during today’s session. I couldn’t get it appear sharper, but what I did manage this time is finding it while using a 2x barlow. And getting familiar with the settings a bit more. Now waiting for the Moon to reach the first quarter. Also working on a Mia drawing while waiting. :D

Newly announced periodic comet P/2026 R2 (Leonard) is at its closed to Earth, at a distance of 0.32 AU. Currently in Ophiuchus, is moving rapidly southwards. It shines at a magnitude of about 12.5. It features a faint tail. #cometWatch #astrophotography

Resisting buying a starter camera lasted only this long. Yesterday evening I captured some footage of Saturn, and this morning, of the Moon. Today I processed the footage. Quite new stuff for me, will fiddle with the parameters more in the future. Getting these on the screen is surprisingly hard. :D

This is Elephant Trunk Nebula. This pillar is a star factory, crushing dust and gas into fusion powerplants that will form their own solar systems. Mind blowing stuff!
